RECAP: iPads & Organizations workshop at Seattle ISPI’s September Chapter Meeting

Last month Tonya and I attended the Seattle ISPI September chapter meeting to present our workshop iPads and Organizations: Using Design Methods as OD Interventions.

We had 14 attendees from across the training spectrum, including some colleagues from the Pacific Northwest OD Network. We also made some new connections with someone from the Organization Design Forum, that we’ll explore in the months ahead.

The workshop itself went well, and we were encouraged by the response. The group navigated our opening exercise with enthusiasm and later reported the positive impact it had on setting their expectations for the session. “I came expecting a talking-head presentation, but immediately saw artifacts of engagement around the room…” was one reaction we heard. We have a few minor tweaks to make, and then it’s on to the annual OD Network Conference 2010 in New Orleans, where we’ll be presenting this again to a wider audience.

Be sure to check out the resources page for the books, articles, ideas, and theorists we knit together into this workshop.
